The Adriatic Sea of Jesolo Lido at sunset

Our
story

This is not the story of a company. It is the story of a family that built its life brick by brick on this strip of Adriatic sand — and that, more than half a century later, is still here.

The origins

A bricklayer, a plot of land
and an idea

It all begins with Giuseppe Lucchetta, a bricklayer by trade. In the 1950s he helped build a hotel in Piazza Aurora, Jesolo. Instead of paying him in cash — a common practice at the time — the owner gave him a plot of land.

His wife Marcella immediately understood the value of that piece of land. In 1957 she built a small inn with guest rooms on it, which became Pensione Casa Mamma (today the Gente di Mare restaurant). Marcella had a business instinct that very few could match.

On the other side of the square, a few years later, a young man from Trentino with a strong desire to work would arrive.

The arrival

From Canzolino
to the Adriatic

Around 1970, Giorgio Oss left Canzolino, a small village near Pergine Valsugana in Trentino. He was 26 years old and certain of one thing: the future was by the sea. Together with his brothers, he moved to Jesolo and purchased Hotel San Paolo in Piazza Aurora — directly opposite Pensione Casa Mamma.

Together with his brothers, he also purchased the adjacent Hotel Patrizia. The work was hard, the days were long, but the Oss family was made of the kind of people who never do things halfway.

Pensione Casa Mamma was there, just a few meters away. Bruna worked with her family. Giorgio began to notice her.

1974

Two families,
one story

The first glances between Giorgio and Bruna crossed Piazza Aurora back and forth, like the steady movement of the tide on the beach. Then came the first greetings, followed by discreetly arranged dates.

Grandmother Marcella — with her unfailing intuition — immediately recognized the value of their union and lovingly guided them toward marriage.

Giorgio and Bruna married in 1974 — he was thirty, she thirty-one. Piergiorgio was born in 1975 and Mattia in 1978. The Oss family in Jesolo had found its roots — and would never lose them again.

A life in Jesolo

1957 — today

1957

Pensione Casa Mamma

Giuseppe Lucchetta builds Pensione Casa Mamma in Piazza Aurora, Jesolo — on land received as payment for masonry work. Marcella's vision turns compensation into a future.

~1970

Giorgio arrives from Trentino

Giorgio Oss, 26, leaves Canzolino and, together with his brothers, purchases Hotel San Paolo in Piazza Aurora — directly opposite Pensione Casa Mamma. The two worlds now stand face to face.

1974

Giorgio and Bruna get married

After years of exchanged glances and encounters between the two establishments overlooking the square, Giorgio and Bruna marry — he thirty, she thirty-one. Piergiorgio (1975) and Mattia (1978) are born.

1983

Hotel De La Ville — their first hotel

Giorgio and Bruna purchase Hotel De La Ville, a seafront property in Piazza Mazzini. For Bruna, it is a personal turning point: she manages the hotel independently for years and becomes, in every sense, a hotelier.

1987

Hotel Panama — a construction site called the future

Giorgio parts ways with his brothers and, together with Bruna, purchases Hotel Panama — at the time little more than a small house. Over the following years, he transforms it into the six-story building with a swimming pool and garage that still stands today.

1998

Hotel Elpiro — the leap to four stars

To finance the purchase of Elpiro, the family sells De La Ville. Bruna moves to the new property and Giorgio begins its renovation: additional floors, a swimming pool, and a garage are added. The four-star hotel is born.

2004

Hotel Fides — Mattia on his own

Purchase of Hotel Fides in Piazza Aurora. Mattia takes over management and gains his first experience as an independent hotelier. A proving ground that lasts five years.

2009

Mattia at Panama

Giorgio hands over the keys of Hotel Panama to Mattia. The second generation takes the helm of the group's most iconic property. Giorgio joins Bruna in managing Hotel Elpiro.

2016

Residence Panama is born

The small house behind Hotel Panama is demolished and replaced by Residence Panama: 16 modern apartments with access to all the services of the adjacent hotel. The concept proves successful immediately.

2018

Hotel Galassia — the last great step

In 2018 came another major acquisition: Hotel Galassia. A few years later, Piergiorgio oversaw its complete renovation. COVID forced the sale of Fides, but Galassia immediately became the flagship property of the group.

Today

Four properties, one family

Hotel Elpiro ★★★★, Hotel Galassia ★★★★, Hotel Panama ★★★ and Residence Panama ★★★. All directly managed by the Oss family — just as it has always been.

Giorgio never stopped working. At a certain point, he simply started doing it together with his children.
